Minutes of the Board of Directors
regular meeting,
October 16, 2023
Open Regular Meeting:
Acting Chair Julie Moss called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM
Attending: Julie Moss, Joyce Dierking
Absent: Lon Stockebrand, Clay Thomas
Also Attending: 14 other community members
Old Business:
Financial report prepared by Bob Jones was read by Julie Moss. An
additional grant of $48,500 has been awarded to our district.
Lyle Neville's Fire Chief Report read by Joyce Dierking.
New Business:
As we did not have a quorum, no official decisions could be made.
Julie read from pages 1 and 7 of policy book 1 concerning the administrative
responsibilities and duties of the board members of the district. She explained
that a board member has sent a complaint to the ethics committee concerning
the legality of the special meeting in September. Her concern is that this will
incur legal fees that will take money away from our fire department's medical
expenses. The board would like to get our administrative assistant back to do
the clerical jobs for which she is being paid. She summed it up by saying we
expect our board and our administration to both follow policy.
Julie opened the meeting to public comment but as this was not a formal
meeting because of no quorum, it turned into an informal question and
answer time.
Julie adjourned the meeting at 7:38.
